Guud (Northern Bald Eagle) is a member of the Accipitridae Clan and in both name and stylized image has represented one of the moieties of the Haida since these families "first came out" from Property - Making - a - Noise. Eagle's relatively short beak terminating in a strong downward curve, contrasting white head and tail, and chittering vocalizations assures its recognition. The constant search for sustenance results in the fleeting satisfaction of a relished salmon head filling its belly. The eaglets, as depictions in the wing, are raised in a refurbished nest that is straining its perch atop a tall tree. A Haida Eagle Chief will welcome all to a Feast by commanding a dance that disperses Eagle Down into the air, allowing this symbol of peace and friendship to then gently float and settle on everyone.
