Killer Whale

The Killer Whale with a hunter on its back is a totempole figure found in southeastern Alaska. According to Haida legend, the undersea realm is the lower world where human souls reside after death. The Killer Whale is the crest of the Raven clan, who are descended from Foam Woman. The painting is a surrealistic representation.
